Our History
Joy of Being represents hope and the possibility of change in the village of Mutrapet, near Pondicherry, India. Founded on deep humanitarian values, the organization works to provide a brighter future for about 40 children.
"Joy of being goes beyond its commitment to education and much more"
Joy of Being also reached out to 7 widowed women in the
village. Aware of the economic challenges they face, the association offered them a new opportunity:
learning the art of sewing. With the purchase of three sewing
machines and the employment of a seamstress for six months to train them, Joy of Being introduced these women to a profession that could
potentially transform their lives. A sewing room is now available for these women
thanks to the tenacity and generosity of the association’s members.
These actions demonstrate Joy of Being’s deep commitment
to the Mutrapet community, offering not only educational and material support to the children, but also a glimmer of hope
and possibility for women seeking to rebuild their lives after the loss of their spouse.
